Poem Anthology (Series of 8)
1. Simplicity (Haiku)
A common Haiku
One that anyone can write
Simple and easy
2. Life (Diamante)
Birth
New, Colourful
Friends, School, Job
Colleagues, Work, Money, Children
Lonely, Sad, Dull
Gray, Memories
Passing
3. Our Country (Free Verse)
Our country, New Zealand
Ah! What a wonderful place to be
The sheep, the cattle, all this green,
The bright blue sky, connecting building to building
From Maori to English, Students to Teachers,
January to December, All year 'round.
Ah! What a wonderful place to be
Our country, New Zealand
4. Rap in Wrap (Couplet)
If what you want is wrap,
I'll put you in a wrap!
5. Consistency (Haiku)
Everyday morning
My alarm clock rings with might
With consistency
6. Ode to Silver (Ode)
You are the purifying element,
The one who purges evil.
To be in your righteous presence in an honour
Unparalleled in might, exalted in glory,
You shine brightness among the world.
A gem hidden below Gold, but brighter than Bronze,
You are the true mystery that contains
The reflection of the moonlight
7. Hope (Quatrain)
I hovered above the clouds,
Searching for the light.
All I saw were darkened shrouds,
In this day of endless blight.
8. The Meaning (Haiku)
Why am I alive?
To the most wondered question,
There is no answer.
Thanks for reading!
